FCPX 10.4.1 SD Card files won't import get error.

OS HS 10.13.4 and FCPX 10.4.1 SD Card files won't import with sound just upgraded to this version of OS and FCP, never had a problem before with same SD card, same Canon camera. What the heck is going on? I can't get my job done. I am so stinking frustrated. What it says - file error can't import, then it does import them with a video camera icon on the image. However there is no sound on the file.

Final Cut Pro X, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

You probably still have Perian installed from way back when. Go to System Preferences->Perian and uninstall it.
