Battery drain iPhone 5s

So, after updating to IOS 11.3.1 my battery drains real quick. Even though the battery health is showing 89% the battery is draining about 10% to 12% in every hour. Even in Airplane mode.

Current standby time is showing 4 hrs 12 minutes. Useage is showing 3 hrs 40 minutes. While the phone has been on airplane mode.

Have disabled Location Services. Have disabled Auto Brightness. Have tried every trick suggested here.

Clearly there is some process that’s running in the background that doesn’t show up in the battery usage Stats. I have rebooted multiple times. Reset the phone to factory settings. Restored from backup.

Hello Madinmumbai,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you are experiencing a faster than expected battery drain on your iPhone 5s. Having your battery last as long as possible is important, and I would be happy to help provide some steps to take from here.

You've done some great troubleshooting so far. To help further isolate possible causes, let's take a closer look at your battery usage next:

About the battery usage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

From Settings > Battery tap on the clock icon to the right of where it says "Last 7 Days." This will show the background activity for apps. Any background activity shown means that your battery is used while apps run in the background, contributing to what you see as "Usage" time. If you see unexpected background activity for an app, go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and turn off Background App Refresh for that app. Test to see if you notice a change in your battery life after.

Temporarily restoring your iPhone 5s as a new device, rather than restoring from a backup, can help further isolate software or settings related causes:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

If the unexpected battery drain occurs when your iPhone 5s is set up as a new device (without any backup data on it), consider taking your device to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store to determine which service and support options are available. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries and regions only).

Let us know if you have questions from here.

Take care!
