My iPad will not start up this morning. I've had it for almost 8 years. It's worked perfectly all this time. It's an 8GB, can't remember Gen. I plugged into my Mac, nothing. It's like it won't turn on or the battery just went totally dead. Any suggestions?

Connect ipad to mains charger then press & hold power button down &menu button
Hold both down until you see apple logo this can take 30 seconds.

Tried this, didn’t work. I’m going to get a new charger chord and see if that could be the problem.
