Too many Apple passwords. How to reduce these to one.?

In the course of time I have created and renew Apple password and now I have the problem knowing what Apple password to use.
Isn't there a way to replace all these passwords just by one that is valid each time I am requested to supply e password.
Thanks for a solution!

I am a bit confused. 2-Factor Authentication has only been a thing for the last couple of years. So cannot have been the cause of multiple passwords for your Apple ID for the 8 years.

If you changed the password for the Apple ID at any point, then it changes for every login and applicartion that uses the Apple ID.

So that the new password must now be used for all of them. i.e outside of 2-Factor authentication, there's no way to have multiple passwords for the same Apple ID.

If you have different Apple IDs each one can have their own password.

Beyond that, I am entirely confused as to what exactly is happening with your passwords.

Eric: I had two Apple ID's. I managed to do away with one. Just a minute ago.

I had a look at the list of applications like iMac, iPad, iPhone etc.

And it seems quite a job to open one after another, for which I don't know what pass word from my collection to use. I can just gamble until a do run in the correct password.

Is this what I will have do?

Thanks for trying to help me.

Phil:

In the course of 8 years "circumstances" forced me - now and then - to select a new Apple password.

Each new password I was forced to introduce, did fit with just that one Apple-application.

If this new password would automatically serve for all other Apple uses, then there would not be a problem.

I have more than 15 different passwords for Apple purposes and when I am requested to supply my Apple password, the gambling starts using one after another hoping to reach the correct one.
Stupid but daily reality.
