School Apple ID why can't they buy Apps

As a School IT Administrator We use DPP MDM and School Apple IDs on our devices. ~GReat, but why can't they use their APple IDs to purchase Apps of their own? Surely at least they should be able to download FREE ones. I don't want to be dealing with EVERY request for an App, I really haven't got the time.

Pleas Apple, is there a way around this? I don't want people using their "own" Apple IDs it ends up getting messy over time.

An essential feature of a School Apple ID is the disabling of the App & iTunes Store. Any workaround would render your ability to control student devices useless.

Isn't that why your school board/district uses an MDM in the first place?

Hi Philip,

Unfortunately, schools have tight restrictions on apps students can download and things they can access. Schools do sometimes push domain wide provinces for some apps, but sadly, this is not that case. As an IT administrator, you should be able to approve apps on a domain-wide basis, but individual apps will always have that problem.
