Iphone X charging port issue?

Hello,

noticed something irritating with my Iphone X when i plug the charger for charging the phone.

it starts charging but incase i pickup my phone & use it when charging it stops charging & starts it again & makes that charging beep sound, then if i remove the lightning connector & shove it back again it works fine even when using the phone while charging, wonder what the issue is? I got an element case formula that covers the entire phone, could be that is obstructing the charging port? weird, dunno if there is an issue with my charging connector in the iphone or its my case blocking the port.

The case is a possibility, and there also could be some lint, or other debris in the port preventing a perfect connection. Use a strong flashlight and magnifying glass to check. You would be surprised what you find in there. Use a small non-conductive instrument to remove anything, like a small wooden toothpick. That will help tremendously.

Thanks for the reply, the iphone x is barely a week old so barely new, this is the 3rd time i m charging the iphone.

The first time was without the case & the 2nd,3rd time with the Element Formula case. This case is very tough to remove but i guess that will let me know if its the case or the iphone.

While I have a minimal case on my iPhone X, I've not experienced a problem. You can test another cable if you wish before you remove the case if it is that difficult to deal with, but my money would be on the case.

Yeah even i have my doubts it could be the case as never noticed it when i charged the iphone the first time without the case 😕 will try another cable, this thing happens only the first time i insert the cable after i reinsert the cable to the iphone the issue never happens again.

Your statement about it happening the first time only is what made me believe it could be interference with the case. Because you say that when you reinsert the cable it remains, so I don't think it is a problem with the phone and/or lightning port.

@chris you could be right. Will also try another lightning cable too. Still got a feeling it could be the charging port as there was another topic i saw of a member with a similar issue with his iphone x. Can't reply there as the thread is locked.
