ads that you can not close

Good Afternoon,

**This does not have to do with the existence of ads, or even the frequency of the ads. This has to do with that there is no way to close the ad, like none at all.**

I keep running into (and more frequently every day) apps that use ads that you can not close no matter what you click. The most recent app that I have run into this problem is called Jackhammer Time.

The ads that do not have the ability to close are typically interactive full screen ads. In which they do not have any (X) closing button, no continue button, or any possible way to close the ad. Even if you click on the ad to 'download now', you will be taken to the download screen in the App Store, but the ad still won't go away. ALSO, there is no timer to wait for, I played the entire interactive app, then left my iPad on for 20mins as I got lunch...came back and the ad is still sitting there with no way to close it.....

**The only way to close the ad, is to double click the home button and force quite the original app you were playing, then re-launch the app and play as long as possible (typically 2-5 mins) before having the repeat the process.

I have attached two screenshots to demonstrate this problem. User uploaded file

To make matters worse, I have contacted Apple support and was told that there is nothing that Apple can do to prevent apps from displaying ads that you can not close. The best advise they game me was to not download that app and give them a 1 star review. I have also attached a screen-shot of my Apple support conversation.

What do you guys think of this? How is this possible? Apple is one of the most restrictive tech companies on the market, and for good reason. How does Apple now have any control of the ads that app developers are using on their operating system?

Thank You.

I am not a developer, but I do not believe any app approved for the app store its required to have a close button or procedure.

This is likely why Apple is giving you the answer they did. They do not require an app be "closeable"

If you observe most any approved app that does not annoy you in this way, it too has no close option.

My suggestions:

1. Do not use ads supported apps (at least the ones you are using now)

2. Some ads supported apps can be switched OFF with an In-App purchase.

3. Nothing is free in this world so you'll paying in many different ways.
