unknown error -1309
I have a firewire/usb maxtor external 200 gig drive.
I partitioned the drive in 2 parts. First 20 gigs is MS-DOS formated. Second part is Mac HFS journaled.
Upon trying to copy a 7.62 gig file to the MS-DOS (FAT32) formated partition I recieve an error exactly when it hits the copy mark of 4 gigs transfered.
Unexpected error occurred
(Error code -1309)
This error code doesn't exist in the apple error codes. However the ones before it deal with formating errors. Is my mac including some kind of bug when I partition a MS-DOS format?
I've repaired the partition, erased the partition, erased the whole drive, reformated, ect. I can't get the file to transfer.
It copies fine to the Mac partition with no error. However the reason I need it to copy to a MS-DOS partition is to be able to hook the drive to a PC and transfer the file to my brothers PC who lives 4 hours away. I have no PC in my house.
Doesn't a PC only recognize a MS-DOS (FAT32) formatted drive?
I have no clue what else to trouble shoot or do.
