I am recording with an avid mbox mini 2 and logic pro x. I have the input set to just input one and the output to stereo but still through headphones or speakers am only getting sound out of the left headphone no matter how I try to pan it. Have restarted program and have tried resetting I/O and even tried 3 separate cables from mic to mbox but nothing seems to solve it. Have never had this problem before

Are you recording on a mono or stereo track track? Should be mono.
Are you monitoring through Logic with Preferences/Audio Software Monitoring
Or are you recording using the MBox low latency hardware monitoring? If so then look to the MBox settings
Does the MBox have a software mixer applet?

What you experienced is normal for monitoring through the hardware. You were using the MBox's low-latency monitoring which picks up the audio from the MBox before it ever gets to Logic. You might check the MBox and see if it has a switch for mono monitoring that would enable you to hear both sides of the output. It will not affect the recording, onlythe hardware monitoring.
Is the Stereo Output in Logic showing a signal both on the right and the left side of the meter?
How about posting a full screen shot of the Arrange page with the track in question selected.
Do you have Low Latency mode enabled? If so disable it.
okay so this time when I have turned on the computer and opened up the same project, it is now playing back out of both headphones and If I use the software monitoring it comes through both headphones so I guess I might just use the software monitoring. Low latency mode is turned off and still only out of the left side without software monitoring enabled but now when I play back what was recorded it is in stereo and not the left side
The track is mono and I'm using the avid mbox for all audio out of the Mac and in the preferences in logic I have it as selected as the input and output device. There is not a little applet for the mbox that I could find but maybe one exists that I never downloaded?
using an MXL v63m microphone with xlr into the mbox
Sorry for the late reply I have been out of town it is only showing on the left side and I have tried switching every setting in the I/o but nothing makes it output left and right
