I just got a new phone the other day and i installed my backup onto it. When instagram installed, it would not open the app without instantly crashing. I have uninstalled the app, restarted my phone, updated to the newest iOS version but it still will not work. I open the app and it instantly crashes. I’m not logged in and i haven’t logged into the instagram app once on this phone.
Hi, can you tell me how to contact Instagram support? I have the same problem and have not found any way at all to get in touch with a real person. I've sent messages which get no response. If you can tell me how to reach them I'd appreciate it.

Update: the latest version (55.0) of Instagram has opened without crash and been running perfectly on my new iPad mini with iOS 11.4.1. Finally they've fixed the problem! Try to remove your previous app once and download the latest version of Instagram.
One way to clear temporary files (cache) and data on an iOS app like Instagram is to uninstall and then reinstall the app. Clearing cache or data from the Instagram app can fix any software errors that might have caused it to crash. Tap and hold on any app icon on the Home screen.
If you can open other different apps without issues, I would contact Instagram's support team and explain your problem.
They will be able to help you.

After installing backup when it starts downloading apps, just stop it and then manually install the app from App Store.

I'm having the same problem too. I deleted the app, restarted the phone & downloaded the app again & it still crashes. help!!
Have you found a solution to this yet? I have the same problem and have tried everything I can think of. I can't seem to find any way of contacting Instagram!
I bought a new iPad mini 4, and have a completely same problem. I sent a feedback about it to Instagram. I hope they will update the app as soon as possible.
There've been two Instagram updates since I bought my phone and it still hasn't made any difference! :-(
Having the same issue to with my new Iphone 7.
Installed my iphone today. all apps are working except instagram.
Thank you so much for the heads up - I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times, including after updates, that I had pretty much given up. But this time it has worked - hooray!!!
