I have a Apple USB superdrive for my desktop iMac (USB-B) I have a new MacPro with USB-C ports (2) .I have a CHARGED adaptor for USB to Usb conversion and a USB-B connector on it ..I can connect the USB Superdrive to the laptop says it needs power?

Apple recommends the USB-C to USB Adapter to connect the Apple USB SuperDrive to a notebook with Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports:

“MacBook Pro models with Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports require a USB-C to USB Adapter (sold separately) to use Apple USB SuperDrive.”
