Cannot import HEIC photos with macOS 10.13.4

Hi,

I was trying to import photos from my iPhone X, but my iMac cannot recognise HEIC files after updating to MacOS 10.13.4

I got a message "This item cannot be added to your Photo library because it may be an unrecognisable file format or the file may not contain valid data"

I tried to airdrop them to my iMac, but everything converted to jpeg.

Before 10.13.4, the airdropped file should always stay with the original file format. No?

What should I do?😟

Where is your Photos Library stored?

Your Mac should be able to read HEIC files on 10.13.4, but it may not be able to import them correctly, if your Photos Library is on an external drive with an incompatible format.

Sometimes the cable or the USB port may be a problem, when you connect the iPhone. Have you tried a different cable or a different USB port?
