Disk utility does not show time machine data disk

Computer reports backup cannot be done and I should use disk utility to repair the airport disk. It does not show up in the disk utility sidebar. Only the Macintosh HD shows up.

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4), Time machine

Please power off the Time Capsule

Wait a minute

Then, power the Time Capsule back up

A disk check is automatically performed during the Time Capsule startup sequence, and this might fix the issue.

If no luck, please hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the Time Machine "clock" icon at the top of the Mac's screen.

Click on Verify Disk

The operation will take anywhere from 10-60 minutes or more depending on how much data is present on the Time Capsule hard drive. Let the process run until it completes, or you receive an error message.

If any error messages are reported, the problem data on the Time Capsule disk unfortunately cannot be repaired. The backup data is corrupted, and you will need to use AirPort Utility to erase the Time Capsule disk and start over again with a new backup. Post back if you need more help on this.

Unfortunately, the message to use Disk Utility on the Time Capsule disk is not correct. Apple meant to say AirPort Utility.
