Apple have no process in place to either report or track stolen iPods. All you can do is report the theft to the Police together with the serial number, and if your iPod was registered with Apple when you first got it, they will assist the Police in returning it to you should it ever be recovered.

Sorry to say, theft is not covered by your AppleCare warranty either. 😟

Sorry to say, it seems that Apple can't do anything to return or at least aid anybody in their search for their stolen iPod!

Beleive me, i was in the same position you are in, about three weeks ago. Im in my last year of highschool and i had set mine down in gym, in a class where i knew everyone and trusted them all, and within a span of 15 minutes it was gone! Its weird because i had done this before too, and also other people in my class do it too, but for some reason mine disappeared.

Ive been searching everything to be able to find it. I know how much it means and how much it matters when something, even an iPod, get stolen. it ***! But theres not much you can do.

You can report it stolen to the authorities, n theyll write up a theft report, thats about it. That thing where you can plug in your serial number into iTunes or the Apple website and itll track the next time that iPod is used to that person's IP, is a myth. Ive checked my warranty, because ive got the same, and it only covers things that could possibly be Apple's fault, like a disfigured iPod or something.

Also considering the huge black market there is out there for iPods, theres very little we can do, but only hope. Im with u man, i hope u find urs as much as i wanna find mine!

theft is not covered in the warranty. sorry

there is also no way of recovering or tracking the ipod.....and dont even go into discussing why not becasue there was also a very recent post about stolen ipod too ....search for it..........its now locked......like id guessed.

im very sure this will be locked to. Cut your losses, file a report with police. and hope. learn from this and next time remember to always have the ipod on you in public. no where is safe except in your pocket.

GFF:)
