It would be wise to study the following articles.

> What is 'Other' and 'Purgeable' in About This Mac? - Apple Support

> How to Automatically Free up Storage Space with macOS Sierra

Then with a clear understanding of exactly what is going to happen, select the Optimize Storage function and proceed with caution.

Simply put the information in the Trash and empty the Trash. If you need assistance finding the data you want to purge, then please let us know. You can begin by clicking the Apple symbol in the upper left of the display and select About this Mac and begin viewing the tabs, specifically the storage tab. This will help give you a general idea of what is stored on the computer.
