Organize iphone apps from itunes on mac

I want to organize my apps on my phone (move apps around and put them into folders) from itunes on my mac. I'm not seeing an apps tab in itunes or the option that lets you move apps anymore in itunes. Has that feature gone away? My Mac is running Sierra 10.13.4 and my iphone is up to date.

When iTunes was updated to 12.7.x, the option to organize apps directly in iTunes was removed. This no longer an option. Management of apps is now relegated to your iPhone or iPad directly.

Apple will allow you to revert back to 12.6.3 and manage your apps as before. If you download that version, you will no longer get notices to update to a newer version. It was mainly meant for businesses but individuals can use it too. Do not uninstall 12.7, this older version will update with it installed.

I updated this version of iTunes on my Mac . . . but how do I get my iPhone to use the same version? When I have the applications menu pulled up on my Mac and my iPhone connected to it, I can see only the apps that are currently on my iPhone. My library will not pull up so I figured this might be because the iTunes on my phone is a different version than what's on my Mac. Do you think I am on the right track?

I have downloaded iTunes version 12.6.4.3

My devices use IOS 11.4

When my device (iPhone SE or iPad Pro) is connected to my computer and iTunes lets me see a list of home screens on my device – but the list of apps (from where I used to move them to one of the home screens) is missing.

Please see this screen dump:

Thank you for any suggestion

It probably is your itunes library.itl. Do you have an older version in the Music/iTunes/Previous iTunes Libraries? The older version is saved any time you install a new version of iTunes.

I don't know if this still works, but with older iTunes versions if iTunes Library.itl does not exist it is rebuilt from iTunes Music Library.xml or iTunes Library.xml. So you can try renaming iTunes Library.itl to iTunes Library.itl.bak and see if if it works. Do this while iTunes is not running, of course. If it doesn't work you can just rename iTunes Library.itl back to the original.

Thank you - I think your advice is correct

(I had found similar advice here: http://osxdaily.com/2017/10/09/get-itunes-12-6-3-with-app-store/)

Unfortunately, I have been very careless and deleted the “Previous iTunes Libraries/” so I cannot replace the current iTunes Library.itl with an older version.

But I thank you very much for you time and knowledge
