Hey, so I’ve noticed lately that if I bookmark a page while in private browsing mode that the bookmark vanishes from visibility once I leave private browsing and I can’t get it back, but if I pull up my bookmarks list there are blank slots listed as though they are still there (but I can’t click on, edit, or delete them).
How can I make these bookmarks accessible and visible again? Thanks.
I have a bunch of those on my iPad in one particular folder for Apple Recommended responses. The Edit button has no impact on the “invisible” bookmarks. I can’t imagine that I would have ever been using Private Browsing while participating in the forums so I don’t think these are related to that.
Oddly enough, I do not see them on my iPhone and I am syncing bookmarks across my devices with iCloud so I find that really puzzling.
The whole point of private browsing is that there's no record kept of where you've been. You can, however, save the location to your home screen. That doesn't vanish. You can then open it a bookmark it.
So does that mean the bookmarked pages never actually stayed bookmarked? If so, why has it resulted in these blank space bookmarks being displayed? How can I get rid of these?
Tap "Edit" at the bottom right of the screen then delete them?
Sadly, that doesn’t work, either. There’s just a blank space where the delete symbol should be and nothing happens if I tap there.
