how to use siri without passcode

My buddy is paralyzed in the hospital with Guillaine-Barre Syndrome (GBS). He cannot use his hands to do fingerprint recognition or type in a passcode. How can he use Siri on iPhone or iPad without prompts to enter passcode, 2 factor identification etc. We will need Find My Phone feature in case of theft.

You can turn off the passcode to unlock the phone without turning off Find My iPhone. Under ordinary circumstances, I wouldn't recommend it. But, in this case it seems logical. Just don't store things like passwords, credit card information, SSN on the phone while he's in the hospital.

Go to Settings>Touch ID & Passcode>Turn Passcode Off.

You may also want to set the phone screen to stay awake for longer, especially if it can be kept plugged in. Settings>Display>Autolock.

You sound like a good friend.

Remember that, in order to use "Hey, Siri..." without the device being plugged in, you need at least an iPhone 6S or later.

Depending on what kind of network is available to your friend, you may also want to take a look at Amazon's range of Echo devices. They can call regular phone numbers. They can send messages to other Echo devices or to the Alexa app on smart phones.
