Any help of getting annoying icons on upper right corner of ipad while using keyboard to disappear?

Hi.

I use an ipad 9.7 2018 with a Logitech bluetooth keyboard.

Every now and then I get these annoying icons on the upper right corner, and can't get it to disappear (other than rebooting it)

Most of the time if I press the corresponding key, and they go away but sometimes this happens.

An icon that's always on the screen.

This example is a control(ctrl) key.

If I press the ctrl key, this happens.

I get another icon that is identical.

If I press it again this happens.

The one on the right turns to a white color.

If I press the ctrl key again, the white colored key disappears, but grey colored one shifts to the right, starting all over again.

It ALWAYS stays there no matter what I do.

Still stays there even after disconnecting Bluetooth keyboard.

Please help me with this problem.

Hi everybody! I’m glad that I can help you with this problem.

This is an accessibility feature called “Sticky Keys”. It can be turned off in the settings app of your iOS device under General → Accessibility → Keyboard → Sticky Keys.

Cheers!

I don’t think there’s a way to turn that off. iT’s telling you that the bluetooth antenna is on - which is mandatory for your keuboard to work.

And after you stop using your keyboard, the antenna will stay on for a period of time then when it realizes you aren’t using your keyboard anymore it will turn off.

You can go into your settings or control center and turn bluetooth off to get rid of the symbol....but your keyboard will not work with bluetooth off.

The icon corresponds with the control key(written Ctrl on most keyboards), not a upper facing arrow.

Sometimes this happens with other keys like the Alt or command key(4 leaf clover shaped), not only the Ctrl key.

I don't think it being a issue with the keyboard because when I disconnect/reconnect, it just stays that way. Also whenever I press the Ctrl key, Command key, and Alt key my ipad makes a sound and kind of sliding animation on the screen meaning it definetly is software.

When I try to touch it, it does not move or react to my touch. Only the app thats on the screen beneath the icon reacts.

Hope someone from iOS support team notices this issue.

Sometimes this happens with other keys like the Alt or command key(4 leaf clover shaped), not only the Ctrl key.

It only occurs when using a physical keyboard, because there are no Ctrl, Alt, Command keys on the virtual keyboard.

Normally if I press the key it shows a gray color. If I press it again, it turns white. If I press it once again, if normal it goes away. But as shown above, instead of it turning white, another of the same icon shows next to it and stays there while the one before goes away when continuing to press the key. Eventually one is always on the screen.

Whenever I press the Ctrl key, Command key, Shift key, or Alt key my ipad makes sounds and kind of a sliding animation on the screen. Also it has about 10% transparency, definetly meaning it's software.

Tapping on it does nothing. Instead the app that's on the screen and underneath it reacts to my touch.

I can't but believe it to be a keyboard program bug of iOS.

Hope someone from the iOS support team notices this issue.
