How to delete expired credit cards?

When it comes time to autofill a credit card numbers, most of the cards displayed have long been expired. Where is this information saved and how do I delete the expired cards? To be clear, I am not discussing my Apple Pay, iCloud or iTunes credit card which is up to date. I am discussing the cards that appear when purchasing from companies other than Apple.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), Late 2008

Hi,

If you are using Safari, go to the Safari menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Autofill tab then click Edit to the right of Credit Cards.

Alternatively, with Safari in focus, you can use the Command , (comma) keyboard shortcut to open Safari > Preferences.

Well, if you have that info stored in your browser and set to "autofill", it will stay there until you remove it.

Safari > Preferences > Passwords and Auto Log in > various options

And, you most likely told the website/company to store your info when you bought something, so you will need to go to all of the websites, log into your account, and change the info there.
