Hey everyone!
I just got myself an APC UPS (1500 M2, 2017 model) for my iMac running 10.10.5 and after connecting the data cable, I do not see it recognized under the "energy saver" tab on my System Preferences. Any pointers on how I can address this? I have done a restart and reconnect a couple of different ways, but no luck.

Did you plug it into the rear usb port as referenced in #7 here:

Did you connect it via the USB cable? (What exactly are you referring to with the "data cable"?)
Is it possible the RJ-45 connection on UPS is to wrong port?
Hmmmm, I’d restart the Mac and then plug it in again directly into a USB port on the Mac. If it still does not work, I’d contact APC.
Yes. I meant the "usb communication cable" that APC supplies.
Though it is easy to make that mistake (the ethernet ports are super close), I just checked and I have it connected correctly to the USB & serial data port the guide references.
