Charger and lightning cable

No cable exists that can work for both. The iPhone 6s Plus and the iPad 3 have a different type of charging port.

The iPhone 6s has a Lightning port, but the iPad 3 has a 30 pin port. You cannot use the same cable for both.

You can use the charger block that came with the iPad to charge both devices, but the cable must be different for each device.

I missed the 3rd Gen iPad. When the OP asked for lightning cable, I just assumed they were both devices that used Lightning cables. Guess I've been at this too long today and it is time to take a break! 😕

You can purchase any lightning cable, either Apple or a MFi cable. As far as the power adapter, you can purchase the iPad one (12w) and use it for both devices. Apple 12W USB Power Adapter - Apple
