Notes disappearing in Score view

Since updating to the latest version (10.4.1) I'm having frustrating issues with the score view.

Sometimes, if I try to change any parameters in the score style - as simple as changing one number in the spacing, or editing the size - all the notes completely disappear from view! Is this happening to anyone? Any workaround?
