Receiving mail

i synced my ipad and MacBook Pro so that I could get my yahoo mail from my iPad on my mail box on my MacBook. It worked fine until yesterday when yahoo asked me to sign in new with my password . I didn't . Today I received mail from my yahoo account on my iPad but not my Macbook - which is not how it usually works.

i have checked all my sign in possibilities - everything looks correct .mail says I am signed in to my yahoo account.

Any ideas why I am not receiving my mail as usual ?

Mail is collected on a Receiving Server and stored on the Internet. That Server is run by the email provider. In this case it would be <youremail>.yahoo.com.

When using multiple devices, the best connection method for most users is IMAP, and both iOS MacOS will set it up that way by default.

To obtain those emails on more than one device, the "approved method" is not to sync the devices, but to go DIRECTLY to yahoo to get another copy of those emails. In addition, Yahoo uses a complex, certificate-based login system now, rather than simple passwords.

You can have as many email accounts as you wish. as you can see, I have six:

User uploaded file

So the solution for your Mac is to create an additional mail Account, specify yahoo, and enter your yahoo username and password.
