Few years I was using Iphone3 as ipod ( without sim card, just audio).
Last week had problems to download music, and decided to reset Iphone.
Now it doesn't recognize any sim card and without it I can not authorize phone on Itunes.

Put the AT&T SIM in and restore it as new in iTunes. Then go through the setup and activation screens. Use recovery mode if necessary.

You can't do this without a simcard.
Get one from mobile phone shop / network provider.
It will be a micro simcard card not a nano card like you have in newer iPhone.
