Why do I get logged out of my account since High Sierra

Since I upgraded to High Sierra, I often get logged out of my account, not only when it is idle but even when it is backing up Time Machine, for example. Systems Preferences are not set to log off after a certain time. Can this problem be fixed?

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

Does your system run in the background while you are logged out of your account? After I upgraded to High Sierra, I was logged out of my account after the sleep or screen saver began. This happened while I was running “First Aid” on the hard drive in the Disk Utility and even during an upgrade. Does it mean, it stopped running until I logged in again? Will anything that is running at the time stop until you log in again, or will it continue running in the background while you are logged out?I hope this is not too confusing.
