Trying to upgrade from 10.9.5 Sierra to High Sierra. It says it is alreadyy installed. It is not.

When I go there I see the Install macOS High Sierra. I already have High Sierra - I just want to upgrade from 10.9.5 to what is current. Should I proceed anyway? I just want the upgrade of High Sierra - not the whole upgrade of High Sierra

Make sure your Mac can run High Sierra > How to download macOS High Sierra - Apple Support
You can double check to see exactly which macOS is currently installed by clicking your Apple menu top left in your screen then click: About This Mac. The macOS version is noted there.
I identified my Mac and where I am at system wise (10.9.5) and when I go to your link it says installed - it really isn't. See screen shot. Thanks for your reply
Open the installer from the Applications folder or the Dock.

Double-click the installer you selected; it, and not the OS, is what the Mac App Store is reporting as installed.
