How do I stop iTunes from automatically connecting to AppleTV when I try to watch a video on my laptop

Recently, when I'm in iTunes on my laptop and I try to watch any video through iTunes (a preview for a music video or movie, or a purchased music video and movie), it's automatically connecting to my AppleTV. It's never done this before and I've had my Apple TV for four years. Is anyone else having this issue? Some older community feeds showed a solution but the solution is no longer available in the current version of iTunes (12.7.4.76).
