Thank you !!! You totally ROCK, Carolyn. I finally have a working ITunes on my Windows 7 laptop. Whew! what a relief. After suggestions from others, especially tt2, I figured my problem was with my OS, not Apple. I'm so grateful for the help from everyone in the Apple Community. I will definitely use it again as I have an IPhone SE & and an IWatch. Best regards, Anne.

From the user tip:

An internal error occurred

Should you get "An internal error occurred" warning when reinstalling try repairing and then removing Apple Software Update, then try to install iTunes once more, right-clicking on the installer and using Run as administrator. Alternatively create a new user account with administrative rights and try installing iTunes using that account.

Thank you for trying to help me. I got the same error message when I tried to remove the Apple Software Update. I had already tried to install ITunes as administrator ... another no go. I'm now thinking that my problem may be my OS. I must have deleted some critical component inadvertently. Any suggestions for my next step?

I wouldn't know how to create a new user account with administrative rights and try installing iTunes using that account.

I've been working my way through the Uninstall process and then deleting the files from the C drive. Completed Program files & Program files (86x). I have a file named Program Data and in there is an Apple File folder AND an Apple Computer file folder. The Apple Computer file contains a sub folder named ITunes. Should I delete all file folders with the Apple name? Thanks.
