Epson XP-400

We have installed new printer cartridges and it acts like it’s printing but no ink is is visible on the paper. Also the printer says there is no black ink. I find it hard to believe that the heads need cleaning, this printer is rarely used.

Are you using original or compatible/third party ink cartridges. How long have the cartridges been in the printer and have you recently done a printer firmware update. If not, DON'T.

I assume the printer has performed OK in the past.
