Problem with Apple ID using OS 10.7.5

Hi all,

I have a catch 21 situation. My Mac Air is from 2012 and the OS is 10.7.5. I want to upgrade the OS to a new system but here's where the chain of problems starts (hate Apple!):

1. I have inherited Mac Air from my boyfriend who had deauthorised it from his account.

2. I cannot authorise the Mac Air as I am unable to log in neither to ITunes, nor to the App Store.

3. I am unable to upgrade the OS as I cannot log in.


I can log in to ITunes and App Store from my IPhone.

Any suggestions please?

Everything worked and I now have OS Sierra installed!

I wish Apple made this instruction clearer to people...
