Google Mail set up not responding

I'm using MacBook Pro with OS High Sierra. Been trying to resolve my GMAIL account not responding when it was set-up in the MAIL Account.

Have deleted and trying to re-install, but the page goes like this forever, need help on to resolve.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

You should be using the special-case setup for GOOGLE Accounts:

NOT Other Mail Account.

This appears to be System Preferences>Internet accounts.

How about setting up the account in Mail.app ?
