Macbook screen goes fuzzy while playing videos

I just purchased a new 15.4 inch macbook pro. When I whatch a video, it will play okay and then the screen will go black with white vertical stripes. If I tap any key, the video will then show normal again for a few seconds and then go off again. I have been watching these on my previous macbook with no problems. Can any one help me with this? Thanks
