Accessing purchased music

I purchased music on a previous email with different password. Both have been changed with Apple.

Unable to listen to music. Do not have old password for previous email

You have to use the Apple ID and password that you used to make purchases in order to download them again. If you changed your Apple ID (updated your ID to reflect your new email address) successfully, there is no reason why you should not be able to download past purchases (assuming they are still available in the iTunes Store) using the updated Apple ID. If you created a new Apple ID, then you cannot transfer the purchase to the new ID.

I‘m guessing you created a new ID and password and that’s why you can’t access the music. The passsord for your Apple ID does not have to be, and should not be, the same password that you use to access your personal email.

No I can’t remeber a password that I used 10 years ago. I’m lucky if I can remember my current passwords. That’s why I have keychain enabled and I have a written copy of all of my passwords. But anyway, I didn’t totally understand what you were trying to say, but I think I get it now.

You must have created a new Apple ID when you changed your email address. If you create a new Apple ID, you are starting all over again. The purchases that you made with the old ID can only be downloaded again using the old ID and password. You will have to purchase the music again or just keep trying to remember the old password if you want to use that Apple ID.

In the beginning I used sbcglobal for email. I used that email as my sign in identity rather than my name. I purchased music with that email and a password. Since then the email was changed and the apple password was changed. I changed both with Apple, but the old sbcglobal comes up with my older downloads and doesn’t recognize the current apple password and therefore doesn’t allow me to use the music previously purchased with different email and password. Can you remember a password used 10 Years ago. 🙂
