I have a 2016 vintage iPad Pro, 256G, WiFi only. Within the last three months, I have had a chronic problem of it not picking up wifi or dropping signal. I have an older iPhone 6S which has no similar problems. I am using the Apple keypad & related cover.
My only resource is to reboot, regularly.

This on private, or public wifi? You might have to take iPad Pro to Apple Store, have Genius check it out.
You might try deleting the device from your wi-fi setup. Then add it back to see if it works any better. If not, have it checked out at the Apple Store.
This is a private 5Gb wifi via relatively new ASUS router. I have two iPhones, another iMac and a host of home automation that communicate well with my ASUS.
Well, my iPad will work about 80% of time. I don’t think i’ve Tried that yet, I will.
