Accidentally unmounted/deleted HD in disk utilities MacBook Pro 2015 won’t start up now.
Had some malware on my comp so decided to start fresh. Durring the process I stupidly left my comp on my bed and left to answer the phone. Cane back to my pup laying on comp and HD deleted/unmounted. I’ve tried reinstalling high sierra through disk utilities but doesnt show a place to install. Ive also tried erasing the drive and reformatting but its says operation failed. Booted into internet recovery but since im only able to use xfinity wifi it came back with an error message. Im assuming its because im not on a private wifi but honestly not sure. In disk utilities it shows:
internal: apple ssd sm0256g media
container disk1
apple disk image media
os x base system
internal says its full
container is basically empty
Apple disk image media is full
os x base system is 1.29 GB out of 2GB
Im about to head to someones house where I've previously accessed their internet to try internet recovery again but was wondering if there was any other tricks i could try. I do have an external hard drive somewhere but I’m not sure if it saved the operating system since I didn’t do a time machine back up and it is currently in storage. I’m somewhat familiar with terminal but was hesitant to try and fix the solution through terminal when I know there’s other steps that are easier and more forgiving. The hard drive should still be completely fine it hasn’t had any issues prior to this and this is 100% user error. Thanks for any and all help!
