Cannot access internet when VPN is on!

Hi,

So I've been reading every single forum online and still cannot find a solution!

I keep on getting disconnected to the internet, once I connect to my VPN on my mac and my iphone. I have uninstalled the VPN, tried several different ones, in vain. The same VPN (Star VPN) used to work wonders a couple of months ago!

Ps. I am located in UAE where Skype and whatsapp calls, Facetime, etc are prohibited. However, it still works fine on my friends phone and laptops. FYI - both my two macbooks have this issue.

Please, I am no tech-head, so I would appreciate you giving me guidance accordingly.
