Disconnect temporarily from current network - problem

Hello,

I disconnect temporarily from current network by tapping User uploaded file in Control Center.

After changing of location it should connect to the same network but it doesn't. Do you have a same problem? What to do? Thank you

Hi, Petr,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities. If I understand your post, you expect that Wi-Fi should automatically enable when changing locations, since you disabled it via the Control Center. However, that does not appear to be happening. I'd be happy to help!

First, you are correct--when disabling Wi-Fi from the Control Center, it should re-enable under the following conditions, including changing location:

While Wi-Fi is disabled, auto-join for any nearby Wi-Fi networks will also be disabled until:

  • You turn on Wi-Fi in Control Center.
  • You connect to a Wi-Fi network in Settings > Wi-Fi.
  • You walk or drive to a new location.
  • It's 5 AM local time.
  • You restart your device.

You can find that information, as well as additional information about using Control Center to manage your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, here: Use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in Control Center with iOS 11 - Apple Support .

If auto-join isn't working in one (or all) of the above scenarios, try the following troubleshooting steps, stopping to test after each:
  1. Force close any open apps: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support, then check for (and install) any available iOS updates: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. Then, restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.
  2. Backup your iPhone: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support, then use the steps under the "Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again" section of If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. Even though the title of this article doesn't quite match your issue, the steps to reinstall are what is important.
Have a wonderful day!
