Question: Imovie import ploblem

I have discovered like many others, the problem "Imovie never finishes background tasks". Use forced Quit under the apple logo to stop it, you can loose parts of our project. Or you just wait forever.

The cause is, Imovie some how did not import a clip from the camera or storage. But it shows the clip you can edit it.

But when you remove the source (camera or storage) it is lost the clip.

"AHA" That way you can find the problem clips in your project for Imovie.

But to export your project you need to eject the source (camera or usb stick)

The way to repair this. remove the source. Clips that did not imported the right way will go black.

Delete these clips. Delete these clips in your project to.

Now connect the source again. Go to your project. choose import. Import the clips you had to delete.

Watch the circle that indicates the clip import time a little white circle it has to close and disappear then the clip is fully imported. Remove eject the source. the clips stay fisable because they are imported in the project.

THAT IS THE CAUSE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS. TAKE TIME WATCHING THE CLIP GET IMPORTED. IMPORT THEM ONE FOR ONE and watch the import get complete SO YOU DO NOT GET PROBLEMS when wanting to export.

Now you can place them again in your project and edit, after that click export and it will work.

Succes and kind regards, Helmuth

(It cost me several days to discover this, hope you get things running soon)
