What is the highest operating system that can be used with FCP7? Using MacBookPro with 10.8.5, so FCP7 will function. Other programs on the system are failing because of older OS. I'm not sure if I can update OS beyond Mountain Lion and have FCP7 still working. Have several projects that have to be completed in FCP7.

I've used DVDSP with El Capitan, but not Sierra yet, though I do have it and FCP7 installed on Sierra as well as El Capitan. Most of us have moved to FCP X for video. When I need to use the older stuff I boot from a different drive, as I have High Sierra installed here.

I've got a few projects that I have to finish up in FCP7 and was hoping to upgrade the OS without blowing it up. Just don't like FCP X interface. I did buy a new MacBook with Sierra for the purpose of using Premiere Pro on upcoming work.
FCP7 will work in all OSs including Sierra, just not Igh Sierra.

I’ve opened it a few times. I haven’t used it in years.
I've only used DVDSP from the FCS3 with El Capitan, not FCP7, but I imagine it would work OK. I moved away from it a long time ago. FCP X is so much better.
