Welcome!

Job One is finding games that run on OS9. Remember that OS9 basically went extinct in late 2001 so game developers have not bothered with it for 17 years. There are NO new mainstream games witten for OS9 or G3 computers.

You will have to find old games pre-owned, offered on auction sites or other sources. I've found old games at Goodwill Stores and St Vincent dePaul stores (if in the UK think OXFAM).

Most games that will run on an iMac G3 and OS9 probably came on CDs. That's OK as long as the CD drive in your iMac works. Those that come on Floppy disks don't work unless you have an external floppy reader.

Check with a Mac Users Group. You can e-mail them and often they will put out a "looking for" e-mail to there members. Some memebrs may be willign to doante old games to you. Use this link to look for groups near you:

We don;t know which iMac you hava but i would not even try unless you have a 400mHz processor or faster (basiclly the "Summer 2000" iMacs and later). Also most iMacs shipped with only 64MB RAM so plan to increase that to at least 256MB for gaming.

You have a struggle ahead if you insist on finding games that worlk on a computer and OS that has been unsupported so long. However, if you post what genres of games you like, I can try to remember what works well on G3s. I did some beta testing in the late 1990's on a G3 tower running OS9, so have a few old favorites.

Sorry for being so not descriptive, haha! I have a summer of 2000 with 500mhz and 256mb of RAM. Disk drive works great! I found one really good source for downloads! http://macintoshgarden.org/ It has TONS of downloads available! Thank you for your help! My plan is to put 1gb of RAM in my G3, the max you can. And I found a great app aswell, it works for Mac OS and iOS, don't know about windows or android... Mactracker on the Mac App Store . It basically is an app that tells you EVERYTHING you could want to know about any apple device, and there startup sound!
