I bought an iPhone SE in January 2017 and I was able to sync it then but not since. iTunes doesn’t recognize that it’s plugged in. I’ve tried various cables, all the USB ports but it just doesn’t show up. Doesn’t even start charging.
My iPad is recognized fine but not the SE.
I just bought a brand new iMac and everything is up to date but it still doesn’t recognize the SE.

I've done everything, but to no avail. The iPhone doesn't even show up in the System Report USB section. I've tried uninstalling my security software(Avast) but that doesn't help.
I tried plugging the phone into a different computer but it isn't recognized on there either.
I have the same issue which I also got in January 2017. I don't think the USB port is the problem as it charges fine.
My iTunes is updated. I tried rebooting my MAC with the phone plugged in. It's not in System Report USB section either.

I bought a new phone and need to make sure all my data is backed up on iTunes.
You don't need anti-virus on a Mac.
De-install AV and make sure it's clean then reboot and try again.
Still nothing. It didn't show up on my wife's laptop which has no anti-virus on it, so I don't think that's the issue. I uninstalled Avast anyways and rebooted but still no luck
Check your Mac's iTunes version.
Make sure it's 12.7.4 or later, if not you have to update iTunes first.
