Old calendar events

I was looking up something that occurred in the past (2015) and found the event. However, suddenly the calendar was wiped clean and the only thing that showed up were birthdays. I have used the Apple calendar in the past as a bit of a journal/diary of events. I would like all my old events to show up. Is there a way I can restore them and then DOWNLOAD them to make a permanent record?

Recover calendar events Some events have disappeared off my calendar. I do not delete events and I am the only user. I have followed the suggested steps to recover and restore, however the past 2 weeks are all that showed as an option. I’m searching for events in May 2021. Any suggestions?
