How do I 'find my Ipad'?

I have been looking for a week...I always kept that app on, but I can't find my iPad, so how do I use that service?

iPad Mini Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 11.3.1

Follow the steps here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

Note that the iPad needs to be on, and connected to the internet to be able to report its location.

Thanks...ugh, I didn't even realize it was gone for days as we experienced a tornado here on the 15th of May...and were without power for over a week... so wherever it is , it surely is not on nor connected to the internet.. : ( but thanks so much. Happy Memorial Day
