Is there a mouse?

No iDevice can use an external mouse or trackpad device.

There is no pointing cursor to move on screen.

Your finger is the “mouse” OR you can use third party commonplace, cheap capacitive stylii or more expensive battery powered, so-called “active”, fine point capacitive still OR even more expensive Bluetooth stylii that utilise both pen pressure sensitivity and hand/palm rejection, that act as a mouse.

Some third party Bluetooth hardware AND iOS software keyboards have navigation arrows that can be used in place of a mouse/trackpad.

That stated you can move around the text "I" beam insertion point cursor by bringing up the iPad's software keyboard, do a two finger single tap to turn the entire keyboard area gray colored and into a gigantic trackpad area where you can easily control the position of the text insertion point "I" beam cursor.

You can highlight text and lines of text by doing a two finger double tap on the iOS software keyboard.

Then, do a single two finger tap on the keyboard area to fine tune the text selection.

That is as close to a mouse or regular trackpad that iOS is, currently, going to get.

However, at this late stage in the development of iOS, I don't see it as very likely.

I have an IPad Pro with Apple Pencil and keyboard and sometimes I have to work in a amazon workspaces or numbers but I don’t understand why I can use a simple device as a mouse to work on these apps. I think could be a great idea to allow use a mouse to improve the iPad Pro.

iOS has never been coded to use a graphical onscreen cursor arrow/pointer, like on regular computer OSes and something like MIcrosoft Surface tablet products.

iOS is mainly a touch only operating system with the option to use any type of stylus only.

iOS has been with us for over 10 years, now.

I wouldn't hold out hope for Apple to program any type of native wireless mouse or trackpad support into iOS any time soon!

This is not going to happen for the foreseeable future.

Just another piece of hardware that we all would need to carry around.

It’s bad enough no one who purchases an iPad ever wanted to learn how to efficiently use the onscreen software keyboard and went to either cases with hardware keyboards built into them or a separate Bluetooth hardware keyboards to carry about.

If you really needed a laptop computer, instead of an iPad, you should have purchased a laptop/MacBook, instead.

It took Apple 20 years to finally make a multibutton mouse for their computers, when everyone else and every third party device maker had multibutton mice, but that multibutton mouse was still designed by Apple to appear to be a simple looking/simple, single button mouse.

So, as long as Apple is still making MacBooks/MacBook Pro laptop computers, I wouldn’t hold out hope for iOS to get any wireless mice/trackpad supoort for, at least, another 5-10 years, or so, if ever!

IPAD Pro is a great device for my work and the 80% of use is as a tablet mode, but sometimes I have to write a email or work with pages or on amazon workplaces work with microsoft access for example. In these cases, a trackpad or mouse simplified work with this kind of app instead of havin to use iPad and a laptop.

That DoBox hub device for iDevices, from what I can see/tell is still in a KickStarter state from 2016!

It looks like this iDevice hub/device got fully funded in April 2016 and got even more money in 2017!

These guys are STILL looking to take pre-orders.

So, it's 2018 and this device STILL does not exist or hasn't been made available yet?

This hub is between $230-$320 depending on when it was pre-ordered.

And from what I can tell, this device hasn’t even starting shipping yet!

AND, once again, another device/piece of hardware you need to carry about with you.

Yes. It's called your finger.

No. iOS doesn't support mouse input. There are some screen sharing apps that will support mouse input within the app.
