IPhone X overheating issue

As stated I have an iPhone X when I was watching videos I had fell asleep with my wife and the phone kept playing well I guess at some point during the night my wife said something was getting extremely hot and when she found it was my phone that she had touched that was in open air just in my chest it was almost to the point of burning and no it wasn’t plugged in so is this something I should take to Apple to get looked at??
