so my first generation iPad min is acting weird. This started a couple years ago . I haven’t used my iPad for about 2 years because of this. Also, I forgot the passcode. Any way. The screen will start pressing random things such as oppening up apps, typing letters, etc... please help I don’t want to go to the apple store. Should I just restart it from iTunes? I just don’t want to lose my pictures and other data

my iPad, 6 years old, will power up but I can't enter passcode as the login screen is unresponsive. I have tried reset unsuccessfully My login screen is unresponsive. Fully charged. Tried on and off.
