Has anyone connected a 30 inch Cinema Display to a 2017 iMac?

I just bought a late 2017 imac. Had hoped to be able to connect my 30inch Cinema Display and use it as a secondary monitor using the combination of two adapters: the Mini DisplayPort to dual-link DVI adaptor and a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adaptor. So far no luck. The iMac "sees/recognizes" the Cinema Display via system preferences but the screen remains black. If anyone has had success in making this work, please let me know!
