iPhone 6s wont connect to 2.4g Wifi ?

Ive had my iPhone 6s for about a year and a half now and im fed up with the wifi. I can connect to any 5g wifi and shaw open and wifi without a password. For whatever reason, any 2.4g wifi i try and connect to it does not connect. Ive tried on multiple motems in many different places. Does anyone have any clue why this would be. Again my iPhone just wont connect to 2.4g wifi.
