If you want to change your Apple ID password you should first sign out of iCloud on all devices which are signed into it, and also out of the iTunes Store wherever applicable. it's also advisable to turn off 'Find my iPhone/iPad/Mac' on any devices it's turn on in. (Synced iCloud data will disappear from your devices but will reappear when you sign back in - give it time.) Then when you've changed the password you can sign back in. Doing this will avoid any problems with signing in after the change.
